Basis of Modeling and Simulation for Training

Athena-Tek’s intimate knowledge of mobile telecommunication technical specification and radio frequency planning software enables us to effectively address network planning and modeling requirements.

Athena-Tek’s present work involves simulating the baseline and enhanced networks associated with the program 5G Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality (5GARVR) and generating coverage maps to assess home-station networks’ ability to satisfy HITS use case requirements.

Previously, Athena Tek has modeled operational testing networks at Fort Riley for Joint Assault Bridge, identified optimal COW deployments to augment training area coverage for Fort Hood, and simulated networks associated with the AH-64E Apache at 29 Palms.

Athena-Tek has consistently brought radio frequency planning and modeling programs to fruition and is eagerly awaiting the expansion of opportunity ushered in by the advent of 5G New Radio (NR).

The U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) and the PEO STRI Agile Acquisition Response (STAAR) Team is currently deploying a private 5G Testbed at Fort Hood, TX in support of the Synthetic Training Environment Live Training System (STE- LTS) program. Fort Hood is home to the DoD 5G Initiative: Tranche 1.
