Marc Lamothe

Chief Engineer

Marc Lamothe is the Chief Engineer at Athena Technologies. He obtained his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees from the University of Franche-Comté in Besançon, France.

One of his major accomplishments during his doctorate was the development of surface acoustic wave sensors (SAW) using ultra-wide-band coding. Upon receiving his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, he pursued research to further develop SAW sensors in a wireless ultra-wideband as well as liquid environments along with software development (Qt/C++) to control a chirp radar through an SDR driver, implementation of a reciprocal counter on an FPGA (Armadeus board) platform and using embedded Linux on a Redpitaya Board (ZYNQ SoC) and driver development.

Since 2018, Marc has held senior positions with Aviana Molecular Technologies and Athena Technologies in Central Florida. His professional accolades include software Development (Qt/C++), RS232 communication, signal processing, and GUI, development of a Chirp Radar based on B200mini (Ettus board) for a cooperative target (SAW sensors) on the ISM band (915 MHz) and WAIC band (4.3 GHz), prototype design of RF frontend for the WAIC RF band (Low Noise Figure), implementation of a Verilog code on an FPGA (Spartan6) to support Frequency hopping, custom embedded Linux on IMX8M interfaced with 5G modem, and 4G jamming implementation on a Software Defined Radio to simulate a network attack.
